The Emmy Children’s T-Shirt* released yesterday by Laela Jeyne Patterns* is a great basic t-shirt pattern. It is is the perfect back to school item, the kind you want to to fill your kid’s closet with. It has options enough to make every Emmy shirt different than the other!
The pattern comes with options for a regular neckline, cowl neck or hood. The sleeves come in short, elbow, and long lengths with or without cuffs, and even a thumb hole cuff option (that I haven’t tried out yet). It also has a gathered sleeve cap and a regular one. Are you tired of listening to all the options yet? More options to customize your little Emmy Tee – three different elbow patch styles, and an accent triangle option!
The gold dotted fabric I used for this Emmy tee is a stable cotton jersey from Hobby Lobby. It has good stretch and recovery and works very well for this pattern. The cowl fabric is a thin gold striped rayon jersey from Hancock fabrics. Unfortunately, it didn’t photograph very well.
I used the gathered sleeve option with a cuff for this version.
The fit is nice and comfortable and I really like the subtly curved hemline of this shirt.
It comes in sizes 6m – 6 (unisex) and for girls 7-14 .
It is a layered pattern, so you can print only the size you need, and in trimless pages for both US and A4 paper. It includes well written instructions and clear photos with accompanying photos for each step.
Emmy Children’s T-Shirt* is on sale now for $6, All other patterns on the Laela Jeyne Patterns*site are 30% off sale too till the 29th of August.

Phew weekend’s almost here, It’s been a crazy last week with friends visiting, a birthday celebration, and some non-stop sewing. But I can’t wait to tell you all about what I am going to be sharing today – I made a maxi! my first ever!
This is the Talia Fitted Dress* released yesterday by Laela Jeyne Patterns*. Talia has a fitted bodice with a scoop neck or a soft V neck in the front and a round neck or a deep V in the back. The beautiful fit in the bodice is achieved by bust and waist darts along with an invisible zipper on the side. Can you see my invisible zipper in the pic below? ( I hope not! :))
The Talia Fitted Dress* flows into a flattering A line skirt that can be made in tunic, mini, knee length, midi or maxi lengths. Additionally It has some really great hem options like the shark bite hem (tunic and knee length) and the faux wrap (maxi length).
I am not entirely sure of the fabric content of my dress, it feels like rayon challis, frays like chiffon, and has a lovely drape and weight. It is extra special to me ’cause my mom sent it to me from India.
My original plan was to make a shark bite hem tunic which I might or might not have pleaded Marisa to include in the pattern but that drapey floral fabric suckered me into cutting it to maxi length and I couldn’t have been more pleased with it. It makes me look taller than I am doesn’t it? For reference I am almost 5 feet tall (short?)
I lined the bodice completely but left the skirt unlined but the pattern includes pattern pieces and instructions for both partially and fully lined dress.
The Talia Fitted Dress* can be a gorgeous cocktail dress, a stylish date night dress or a sweet sun dress based on your choice of fabric and length.
