The Constance Sweater by Sew a Little Seam is here and we are in LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I love it so much that I am desperately waiting for a women’s version so I can match my mini!

But here’s something else that I hope will make you want to buy the pattern – Kelly is in the process of designing the Meaningfully Made collection, the first of which is the Constance Sweater. This is both important and personal for her and I think it’s pretty amazing that she’s directing 100% of the proceeds towards the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

The PDF pattern comes in sizes 3 months all the way up to 12 years. It has three lengths – top, tunic or dress, three sleeve (gathered or regular) lengths – short, 3/4 and long. You can choose to do a regular neckline with a neckband or a lined or unlined hood. It also includes options like the kangaroo pocket, oval and heart elbow patches, and cuffs and hem bands. It has layered sizing and a very clear photo tutorial. My favorite features from all of Kelly’s patterns are her attention to clean finishing techniques be it the HongKong seam finishes in the Linden Shorts and Skirt or the super awesome reversible Ollie Bomber jacket. Don’t you just love when PDF patterns help you better your skills?!?

For my first version, I made a tunic with a completely lined hood in hacci sweater knit fabric that I got from my Girl Charlee Knitfix last year. It is a medium to heavy weight knit with good stretch but more importantly it’s really warm, and paired with woollen tights it’s great for our the chilly weather. The ivory rib knit is from Jo Ann fabrics.

For our final version, I sized up to allow more room for layering. The pattern comes with both regular and gathered (or pleated) sleeves and I opted to do these sweet looking pleated sleeves.

This lovely coral french terry is from LA Finch fabrics, and the liverpool knit that I used for the cuffs and binding is from Sincerely Rylee fabrics (I used it here for my Chloe skirt). This french terry is so soft and snuggly! with great stretch too so its perfect for this pattern. I got a lot of this fabric that I am saving for my Constance Sweater which hopefully is not too far off 😀
