Hello and happy Monday everyone!!! I am so excited to share my versions of the lovely Fleur Dress Pattern by  Winter Wear Designs today. The Fleur is a dainty little pattern with a fitted bodice and a low scoop neck at the back. It has a unique pleated skirt which drapes down the sides asymmetrically, with a flowy handkerchief type hem.

I made this sleeveless version in vintage length out of swiss dot fabric (from Hancock fabrics).

I used a rick rack lined eyelet lace from Hobby Lobby for the front detail and love how delicate and feminine it looks!

I don’t know which is greater at this point, her obsession for pink or fascination for Anna who she will only refer to as ‘sister’ and she hasn’t even watched the movie!?!

If you’ve seen my earlier blog posts, you’ll know that I’ve never made any open or low back dresses for my daughter before but this Fleur dress….. I had my fabrics picked out when I signed up for the tester call. I have all the ‘heart eyes’ for that button and elastic feature in the back! Swooooooon!

Sewing this dress gave me so much joy and happiness, that I sat down and took my time to finish the lining and hem of both the dresses by hand hemming where I usually rush to finish the hem.

For this second version, I went with regular length and flutter sleeves and used this cotton lawn – woodland clearing by Liesl Gibson Oliver & S for Robert Kaufman that I got from Raspberry Creek Fabrics.

For the front detail and the lining of the sleeves, I used the last bit of voile from the Lisette Spring 2014 collection that I had left in my stash.

I pressed well, I really did but by the time I carried her downstairs and outside, I managed to wrinkle it nicely 😦

Don’t you love those pleats in the front? She likes her dress too! I think she’s in that stage where she loves all things new (or pink).

I used fabric covered buttons for the back and simply adore how this dress turned out!

I am so glad I got the opportunity to test the Fleur Dress pattern! and working with Suzanne Winter was an absolute pleasure, she has such a positive and warm vibe going on in the group, its quite infectious!!! 🙂

The Fleur dress pattern released today and its on sale for $6 now.

I found so much joy in this creation, I wish you find joy in your sewing project today!
