Hey friends!

Have you started sewing and shopping for the holidays yet? I have a great holiday dress pattern to share with you today! It is from the Lil Luxe collection so fabulousness guaranteed!!!

The Saumur dress is a classic party dress with princess seams and puffed sleeves. What makes it stand out though is the combination of pleats and gathers in the skirt along with bow ties in the sides and the option to add piping or trim along the entire length of the dress.

The design of the Saumur dress provides so many options to play with color and trims in the bodice and skirt.

I used the same fabric for the entire dress – linen (joann fabrics)  with black piping along the princess seams and velvet trim for the side ties. The sleeves are fully lined, though there’s an option to make it unlined as well.

The colors I picked were a bit hard to photograph, but it really is a beautiful dress with pleats in the center front and back and gathering in the sides with the bow ties 🙂

Clean finish with a fully lined bodice and an invisible zipper in the back really take the dress up a notch, and I love how the heavy linen sorta puffs it up!

It is not a quick sew pattern, planning and sewing the entire dress does take up a bit of time, but its a pattern you’ll be glad you tried ’cause the result is so beautiful. I can’t wait to try more fabric and trim combinations for this dress.
