I am so excited to finally be able to share our Top Knot Romper from Chalk and Notch patterns. I have been desperately waiting for this pattern ever since I first saw a sneak peak on the Chalk and Notch Patterns website and even more thrilled to have had the privilege to test this romper. This pattern seriously caters to all of my romper requirements! but more importantly SLEEVES! both short and long sleeves, no elastic necks or straps but proper sleeves with a button placket! That really is one of my favorite features in this pattern!

I have tested for Gabriela before (Fishtail Kimono and Holiday Debut blog tour) and just like her earlier pattern, everything about this pattern screams PERFECTION! every 1/8 inch accounted for, every little detail explained and illustrated impeccably and the precision with which the pieces fit together is just perfect! image

I used this really bright ikat-like print cotton lawn for my main fabric and pin dot chambray for the contrast cuffs and pockets and love the outcome so much. This is a pattern I knew I was going to love from the get go! Look at the pleats on the shoulders and look at those GORGEOUS pockets!

The patterns includes size ranges 18-24 months to 12 years, is layered and no trim  which make printing and assembling a breeze! The tutorial and illustrated instructions are some of the best I have come across. I made the romper shorts version, but the pattern has several other options – romper pants, tunic, dress and a graceful maxi length as well!

Sewing this pattern does take up a good amount of time, it is definitely not a quick-sew project. The pleats, the pockets, placket, cuffs every loving detail takes up time but is also one of the most gratifying projects I have sewn. LOL I can’t stop raving about this pattern now can I?

I have been so lucky to have gotten the opportunity to test the Top Knot Romper and work with a talented and wonderful designer like Gabriela Longfish. Its an adorable pattern as you can see but I would solely recommend this pattern for an amazing sewing experience that only a pattern as well designed and detailed as this can give!!! Go get the amazing Top Knot romper, dress & tunic while its still on release sale price, you’ll love it!
