The On Point Penley by KB Stitch Designs is a semi fitted top with several options, two necklines – a Henley collar with a V-neck and a standard polo collar, 3 sleeve lengths – short, elbow length and cuffed long sleeves. The top comes in two lengths shirt and tunic, and then there’s also the dress length. If all these options are not enough, there’s another one – contrast side accents for color blocking.
For this version, I used a lightweight jersey knit with a soft drape, the placket can be made in both woven or knit. The pointed placket, the V-neck henley collar and the curved hemline are what make this top stand out from standard polo or henley collar Tees. The functional buttons or snaps make this nursing-friendly too!
With options for sleeves, top and dress lengths and the comfort of knit fabric, this is going to be a staple in my fall wardrobe. This was the first one I tested, and while I didn’t think much of the fabric by itself, I love this striped top.
For my second one, I used a floral jersey knit from Girl Charlee knit fix and a blue rayon jersey that I got from a local fabric warehouse. It’s a very quick sew with the placket and collar taking up most of the time. The pattern comes with great instructions and pictures to guide you through every step and has very helpful tips along the way, making the placket and collar constructions smooth and easy.
I love the tailored fit of this pattern. Check out the KB Stitch Designs website for more tester pictures with loads of other options including dress length and contrast side panels. There’s even a maternity add-on with ruching on the sides. you can get this pattern now for 25% off at On Point Penley Polo ( affiliate link).
